Resource: Best Practices in Bicycle Tourism

In 2020, we had the opportunity to consult on a project in Central California: “Promoting Safe Bicycle Travel Opportunities for Bicycle Tourism and Economic Development.” The goal of the project was to examine the ways in which investments in bicycle infrastructure could lead to positive economic impacts to the local communities in the form of bicycle tourism.

Our contribution was providing a bicycle tourism framework through which the region could prioritize infrastructure updates (“Best Practices in Bicycle Tourism”). To date, this may be the most comprehensive, publicly-accessible information about developing a bicycle tourism destination, so we’re thrilled to be able to share it.
